The Girls Softball Sportsmanship Awards focus on schools in Chicago's south

sporting experience for all - including the officials who umpired the games.
It has been awarded since 2003 and was developed as part of the Illinois High
School Association's "Sport a Winning Attitude" Program.
Officials from the SSOA select winners by using a comprehensive rating system that evaluates sportsmanship in three areas - players, coaches and fans from the spring 2008 season.
